Why is GoingUp! Free? What's the catch?

There's no catch, really!

As a webmaster myself, I found that there was no single visitor tracking system that offered everything I wanted.. so I made one. I want to know where my visitors come from, why, what they do, how long they do it, track sales and other actions.. in essence, did my visitor get where they wanted to go, and did my site server their purpose? GoingUp! gives all this, and more.

Then, friends started asking me for advice for tracking for their sites so I set them up the same tracking I was using.. before long I decided that it was time to 'go public' with this little venture.

Will you put any ads on my website?
No. Never. Period. You decide what is shown on your site, and you alone. We are in the testing phase of a user directed campaign that will allow you to sell some space on your site to advertisers.. if YOU decide to do that. Again, this is up to you, you make all the decisions about what is shown on your site.

Ok, it sounds great, but how do you make money?
We run this service to learn. Learn about metrics, study the evolution of trends and network patterns. Personally, I'm an information junkie, and I'm fascinated with data and traffic migration. I believe that the more I know about my visitor traffic and the habits of my visitors to my site, the better I can fine tune my offer and service, and that allows me to give a great experience to my website visitor and help me achieve the goals of my website, whatever that may be. Your use of GoingUp! also helps us improve the tracking, and give you the most advanced, the most superior tracking service available.

So, the free service is free, free, free. We do offer a more advanced service, with higher log files and other tools, but for the average webmaster our free service is perfect.
